I have a dreaded feeling that this year’s Halloween is going to be as bad or even worse than last year’s. And that’s a major bummer. My Instagram picture from last year is above. Charlotte’s face says it best. We got caught in a downpour and gave up on the trick-or-treating for pumpkin pie and hot fudge cakes at Frisch’s.
Last weekend it felt like spring – the sun was shining and temperatures reached 80. And then the realization that Halloween was on a FRIDAY this year! YAY!!! The kids could stay out late and eat a ton of candy without ramifications the next morning while trying to get to the bus stop on time.
Then a cold front came through and today a frigid system from Canada…which is apparently causing snow in Michigan! It’s now bleak, cold, windy, rainy and a whopping 47 degrees. Brrrrrrrrrrrr. And it’s only supposed to get worse as the afternoon progresses. 38 degrees by the time trick-or-treat is over. A possible rain/mist/sleet mixture. Fantastic.
It will be a game time decision at our house. Trick-or-Treat? OR dessert at Big Boy? Although I really hope that doesn’t become the new annual tradition. We’ll definitely hang around at our house to pass out a few of the FULL-SIZE Hershey bars I purchased yesterday at Costco. I saw the weather forecast…and if kids come out in it…I’m rewarding them!
Will you trick-or-treat in yucky weather?
What are you passing out this year?
Aww! Poor little things, they look heart broken. Their costumes were cute though. Aww, well I hope either way you guys make the most of Halloween this year like last year.
