Did you know that Clifford turned 50 this year? Yep, the big 5-0!
gave Clifford a big birthday party back in February.
And, of course, we attended the FREE event.
Over 200 of Clifford’s closest friends came to celebrate at the station.
Even Mr. Red.
There were lots of crafts and activities.
The girls got to make their own Clifford ears.
And sign his birthday card.
Story time was by the Public Library.
With Clifford books…what else!?!
The kids did not actually eat one of the cupcakes shown above.
(The bone cake was cupcakes!)
Instead they each chose a big iced cookie…shaped like a dog bone!
It was such a fun afternoon.
When the kids watch TV, it is often a show from PBS kids. I’ve yet to find one that I don’t care for. I also keep a few episodes of Nature on the DVR. I’m surprised by how much the kids enjoy those. But I remember watching those with my mom growing up.
Andy and I feel it’s important to support public television since we watch so much of it. (Anyone else missing Downton Abbey right now??) So we signed the kids up as part of the CET Kids Club. Although the Clifford event was free to the public, we got some extra goodies for being a part of the Kids Club. And we got advanced notice of the event. And the kids get their name on TV during their birthday week…which they LOVE.
As part of our Kids Club Birthday Party Goody Bag, we got to download the Clifford’s Big Birthday App with a FREE code. The kids have each had a chance to play it a couple of times and really like it. You help set the stage for the party – decorating, etc. Then you invite Clifford when you are ready and play some educational games to celebrate his birthday. Overall, it’s a nice app.
Well, since I have THREE kids, I got THREE codes! And, I only needed ONE. I contacted CET to see if it would be ok…and…I can give the other TWO away to two lucky readers. But it has to be downloaded by April 15th…so if you’d like to save $0.99, let’s get this going!
Comment below to enter…just tell me what is your (or your kids) favorite PBS show or app?
I’ll use random.org to select 2 winners for the downloads on Friday evening. Make sure I have a way to contact you if you win. I will need to email you the code. Good luck!
Be sure to keep up with the Cincinnati local PBS station by following the CET Facebook Page or CET Blog OR find other ways to connect with them on social media on the CET website. I prefer their weekly email newsletter which highlights the programming for the week…helps me set the DVR!
To find your local PBS station, go to the PBS website and start there!
And I must admit…I have the entire first season and this season of Call the Midwife still to watch…worth my time? Or should I delete?
Anyone watching Mr. Selfridge? Andy and I finished the first episode last night and will continue watching the next seven. Not as good as Downton Abbey, but I just love Jeremy Piven.
Colin loves Daniel Tiger and Claire’s favorite is Wild Kratts. We LOVE PBS! Thanks for a great post!
I remember my parents supporting PBS when I was a kid. My daughter likes Arthur and Daniel Tiger. I’m sure she would enjoy many of the other shows too but she tends to want more instant experiences like getting things off Netflix or On Demand TV so we don’t have to worry about a schedule.
Thanks for the great giveaway 🙂
Angela – I need your email address to send you the Clifford app code!! I couldn’t find a way to contact you on your site.
