<Whatcha Might Not Know are Wednesday posts that are just that…something quick that you may or may not know about me, my family, my neighborhood, my city, my world, etc.>
When Spring arrives, the itch to grill-out gets out of control for me. I love being outdoors. And nothing makes me happier than spending an afternoon on our backyard patio, watching the kids run through the yard, and smelling grilled food!
I’ll eat a burger, but that’s not my first choice. I would much prefer grilled chicken or a brat smothered in mustard or a cheesy mettwurst (Blue Grass Deliciously Lean is a favorite) or a good old hot dog. It’s the only way I’ll eat a hot dog – grilled. Boiled = yuck. Microwaved = yuck. Even on a Skyline cheese coney steamed = yuck. If it doesn’t have grill marks (and a LOT of them), I won’t eat it. You can see my pick of the plate below.
Due to this (having to grill them and then also having an entire package opened and grilled), we don’t have a lot of hot dogs at our house. However, my girls love them – in any form. I just rarely make them – not a staple in our fridge (and probably not a bad thing). However, I often wished I had one or two on hand for “emergency” dinner options. So you can imagine my giddiness when I saw these at Kroger:
Individually wrapped? Can be kept in the freezer and brought out one-by-one? Buy one, and get one free? And I had coupons? SOLD.
I could have easily posted a picture of my hubby, my kids, etc. for the Blog Challenge. But that’s boring and somewhat expected. Today, these hot dogs also make me happy!
Confession. I am a beer snob. Seriously. I am not proud of this and it just pains the frugal side of me. I am no longer a cheap bar date (although the number of drinks has definitely lessened!).And I blame my husband. He loves beer. And many different kinds. Any…
What some of you might not know is that Andy and I dealt with infertility for 2 years on our journey to become parents. Seriously. We may have 3 kids now...and back-to-back so I'm sure I look like Fertile Myrtle, but it took a long time coming. That said, I…
Blog Challenge Day 27: Pets Andy and I both grew up having a dog at home. And then in high school I also lived on a farm with farm dogs, barn cats, horses, etc. However, neither one of us wants a pet of our own. Too much work and too much…
