New Ribbon Makes Me Happy!

I’m on a girls-only trip and the only sad thing about it is that I got an order of ribbon right before I left.  (Just kidding dear, I miss you AND the kids terribly.)  I love the fun patterns and cannot wait to put together some adorable bows – both for my own girls and for some orders – when I return.  I think I most love them because they remind me of spring and summer – my two favorite times of the year.

Mitchell’s Salon – This Saturday’s Shout-Out

Preparing for my weekend girls-only trip to Florida, I decided to splurge and get a manicure and pedicure.  Sadly, I still had $$ left from a gift card Andy got me for Christmas in 2009!  (Being pregnant right afterwards and SICK didn’t make for many trips to the spa in 2010.) I am a spa snob.  For

Do You Even Know What Dairy Queen Is??

My Stella is a reader…a lover of books, words, letters, etc. as you will see from the pictures below (we even met Clifford).  She gets it honest from both Andy and me.  She is the type of kid that would rather sit and read than play dress-up.  She asks you to look things up on

March Madness Crafts

March Madness will soon be here.  I LOVE March Madness.   If you need headbands or hair bows for your favorite team, get your order in now! I just ordered even more ribbon and am excited to be working on a hair bow holder for a co-worker and a flower girl headband (so honored) for

10K Tuesday – T-shirts, Tattoos & Tutus

This week has been a slow-go AGAIN.  We said goodbye to Charlotte’s paci now that she’s a big 2-year old and the evenings/nights haven’t been so great which makes the 4:30 wake-up call a snooze button festival!  Sorry dear.  (I am married to a man that NEVER uses snooze.)  And my stress-fracture site (these kind

Return of Nutmeg, Part 2

Yikes!  I definitely hit a few nerves with my Nutmeg post.  I did receive a few comments on the blog post itself, but I also got some personal emails and voicemails and took part in some very interesting conversations about my dear friend and her current situation. All of it is quite amusing to me.  And

Talking at You, Not with You

A couple of days ago I turned on my cell phone and heard, “You have 26 new messages” and I wasn’t really shocked.  Well, a little bit.  Twenty-six is quite a bit…probably the most I’ve ever had…but, 15-18 is normal for me!  Yep, normal. See, one of my best friends lives states away.  We met while

The Spotted Elephant – This Saturday’s Shout-Out

My dear middle child turned TWO last week.  And her two loves in life are cookies and hats followed by Elmo.  In learning about my new cubicle-mate, Kim, I quickly discovered how talented she is outside of the office.  She and her husband knit among many other things.  And her pricing is extremely reasonable. So I

Will We Survive Sans Interruption?

The following is a real conversation I had with a friend one week ago on Friday morning: Me – So, we’re leaving here around noon and hope to be at the in-laws by dinner.  And your plans for the weekend? Her – We’re going tubing tomorrow. Me – Awesome.  Who’s watching the baby? Her –
